Australasian Signalling - Revisited

| This paper builds on the 2002 paper on Australasian signalling. This year sees the return of the IRSE Convention to Australia, this time to Queensland, and it is therefore an opportune time to review the developments in the region since then. Brief summaries are provided for each geographic area of the current rail industry, network and structure, and significant signalling and control system infrastructure changes. |
Topics to be covered include:
- overview of the Australasian industry and network
- Details of Queensland Rails work on improving the performance of the network in Brisbane
- A more detailed description of the RioTinto Heavy Haul Signalling in the Pilbara, in Western Australia
- Developments in Auckland, New Zealand
- The newly electrified network in Adelaide, South Australia
- Details of capacity improvements in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales
